You can never have too many tools for sound design, whether rounding out a scene or layering and hammering out the perfect impact. This library is packed with over 250 files of manual tools, like hammers, ratchets, and screwdrivers, and manual motions, like chopping wood and smashing stones. Nearly 3 GB of sounds will add that extra umph, boom, or crack to give any sound that missing edge. You can be sure you’ll always have the sharpest tool in the shed.

WHAT WE RECORDED

We emptied our TOOLBOX to find everything we could to record: Hammers, Axes, Saws, Straps, Car Jacks, and more. Using a XY-Setup of two Sennheiser MKH 8040s and a MS-Setup with a Sennheiser MKH8050 and MKH30, we captured every rattle and smash we could make while keeping the recording as dry as possible.

System Requirements

Sound Effects Libraries:

Windows: Any Windows version capable of running a DAW that supports WAV file import

macOS: Any macOS version capable of running a DAW that supports WAV file import

Formats: WAV (96kHz/24-bit). Compatible with any DAW or audio editor that supports WAV files.

Note: BOOM LOADER app recommended for downloading. All files include embedded metadata (descriptions, keywords) compatible with audio management tools like Soundminer, BaseHead, etc.

Audio Plugins:

Windows: Windows 8 or later (64-bit), 8 GB RAM, Intel Core i5, OpenGL 2.1 capable GPU

macOS: macOS 10.13 or later (64-bit), 8 GB RAM, Apple Silicon or Intel Core i5, OpenGL 2.1 capable GPU

Formats: VST 2.4, VST 3, AU, AAX

Note: iLok account required (free). iLok License Manager required. Up to 2 simultaneous activations per license. Requires audio host software (no standalone mode).

Sonuscore Virtual Instruments:

Windows: Windows 10 or later (64-bit), Intel Core i5 or equivalent, 4 GB RAM (6 GB recommended)

macOS: macOS 10.14 or later (64-bit), Intel Core i5 or Apple Silicon, 4 GB RAM (6 GB recommended)

Formats: Runs inside Kontakt (full version, v5.8.1+ to v7.7.1+ depending on product) or HALion Sonic (free). Host DAW must support VST, AU, AAX, or NKS.

Note: Full version of Kontakt required (free Kontakt Player runs in demo mode only). SSD recommended. Some products (e.g., Nordic Spheres) require Intel i7 or higher and 8.5 GB+ free disk space.

Your purchase from mypluginworld.com provides a digital license for your BOOM Library plug-in.

Important: BOOM Library uses different activation systems depending on the product type:

  • Sound Effects Libraries (WAV files): Registered via BOOM Library account, downloaded via the LOADER app
  • Audio Plugins (DeBird, Enforcer, Grip, LiftFX, ReCenter, SoundWeaver, Turbine, Enrage, Brute Force, Toolbox): Require iLok machine authorisation
  • Sonuscore Virtual Instruments: Require Native Instruments Kontakt (full version) or Steinberg HALion Sonic (free)
For Sound Effects Libraries (WAV files)
1. Register Your Product
2. Download LOADER
3. Download Your Library
  • Open LOADER and log in with your BOOM Library account
  • Your registered products will appear automatically
  • Click to download, then import the WAV files into your DAW or audio management tool
For Audio Plugins (BOOM Interactive)

iLok Required: You must have a free iLok account and the iLok License Manager installed.

Activation Limit: Each license allows activation on up to 2 locations (computers and/or iLok USB dongles).

1. Register Your Product
2. Set Up iLok
3. Activate Your License
  • Open iLok License Manager
  • Go to Licenses > Redeem Activation Code (or click the code icon in the upper right corner, next to the search field)
  • Paste your 30-character activation code
  • Select your workstation (or iLok USB dongle) as the activation location
4. Use in Your DAW
  • Open your DAW -- the plugin will appear in your plugin list

Note: The activation code works only once. After initial activation, manage your licenses through iLok License Manager.

For Sonuscore Virtual Instruments
1. Register Your Product at https://www.boomlibrary.com/product-registration/
2. Install Kontakt or HALion Sonic
  • Most Sonuscore products require the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt (typically v5.8.1 or higher) -- the free Kontakt Player runs in demo mode only
  • Alternatively, some products support Steinberg HALion Sonic (free)
3. Download and install via BOOM LOADER or Native Access as directed in your registration email
