In other words, instead of relying on gigabytes of samples, Friktion is a synthesizer that actually models real string instruments. With clever control keys you can easily play it in a way that simply sounds real. Whether it’s a violin or an imaginary space harp is up to you.

System Requirements

Friktion is a Rack Extension and requires the Reason environment to function.

  • Host Software: Reason 10.1 or later (compatible with Reason Intro, Lite, Standard, and Suite) or the Reason Rack Plugin (VST3/AU/AAX) used in other DAWs.
  • Operating Systems: Compatible with Windows and macOS (Intel & Apple Silicon supported via Reason 12+).
  • Internet: Required for initial license registration and installation.
Download/Activate

Your purchase from mypluginworld.com provides a digital license for Friktion.

1. Register Your License
  • Log in to your account at ReasonStudios.com.
  • Go to "Account" -> "Register a Product" and enter the Activation Code provided by mypluginworld.com.
2. Download & Installation
  • Via Reason Companion: Open the Reason Companion app, find Friktion under your "Devices," and click Install.
  • Via Reason Software: Launch Reason; the software will detect the new license and prompt you to download the device.
3. Activation
  • Online: Reason authorizes your Rack Extensions automatically upon launching the software while connected to the internet.
  • Offline: Use the Reason Authorizer tool to "write" your licenses to your computer’s hard drive for use without an active internet connection.
Pro-Tip for MyPluginWorld Users

Because Friktion is modeled rather than sampled, it responds incredibly well to Mod Wheel (CC1) and Aftertouch. To get the most realistic "cello" or "violin" solo, use your Mod Wheel to control the bow pressure and speed in real-time. Increasing the pressure slightly during a long note will add that characteristic "scrape" and grit that makes physical modeling sound so much more alive than a static sample!
