Zen Delay Virtual, ZDV for short, is a digital evolution of the popular Ninja Tune Zen Delay hardware effect made by Erica Synths. Inspired by a trip to Berlin's trailblazing music hardware trade show, Superbooth, Coldcut's Matt Black and longtime friend Dr. Walker (Liquid Sky artist collective/Air Liquide) envisaged the exciting possibility of a custom hardware effects unit. The result was the creation of the original Zen Delay - the first-ever hardware effects unit produced in collaboration with an electronic music label.

Like its hardware progenitor, ZDV is a BPM-synced stereo delay line combining extreme feedback ranges for dub and experimental effects paired with a multi-mode 24dB/octave filter and overdrive. Crafted in close collaboration with electronic music producers, ZDV is designed with studio use in mind, and is suitable for many different situations, musical styles, and instruments. ZDV can add a unique, warm, and powerful sonic character to drums, loops, vocals, synths, samples, or virtually any other type of audio. Even full tracks or a stereo mix can be enhanced with the Zen Delay Virtual, breathing new life into productions, giving synth and drum parts a huge kick. ZDV can be used as a plug-in in nearly all digital audio workstations and also works as a standalone app.

Your purchase from mypluginworld.com provides a digital license for your Liquid Sky plug-in.

You will receive an iLok activation code for Zen Delay Virtual. You do not need a physical iLok USB dongle — free computer-based or cloud activation is available.

Important: This is the same Zen Delay Virtual plugin as sold under Erica Synths. It is a collaboration between Erica Synths, Ninja Tune, and Liquid Sky Artist Collective.

Step 1: Create a Free iLok Account
  • Visit https://www.ilok.com/#!registration and create a free account
  • Note your iLok User ID — you will need it during activation
Step 2: Download & Install iLok License Manager
  • Download the iLok License Manager application from https://www.ilok.com/#!license-manager
  • Install it on your Mac or Windows computer
  • Open iLok License Manager and sign in with your iLok account
Step 3: Redeem Your Activation Code
  • In iLok License Manager, click the "Redeem" icon
  • Enter the activation code from your mypluginworld.com order confirmation email
  • This deposits the Zen Delay Virtual license into your iLok account
Step 4: Activate Your License
  • In iLok License Manager, find the Zen Delay Virtual license in your account
  • Drag the license to your preferred activation location:
  • Computer — stores locally; needs internet only at activation time, then works offline
  • iLok Cloud — requires internet connection during use; no hardware needed
  • iLok USB dongle (2nd or 3rd generation) — must be plugged in during use
  • Up to 3 simultaneous activations are supported
Step 5: Download & Install Zen Delay Virtual
  • Download the trial/installer from the Liquid Sky website:
  • Mac installer — available on the Zen Delay page
  • Windows installer — available on the Zen Delay page
  • Alternatively, download from https://www.ericasynths.lv/news/zen-delay-vst-download/
  • Double-click the installer and follow on-screen instructions
  • VST2, VST3, AU, and standalone versions are installed
Step 6: Launch in Your DAW
  • Open your DAW and scan for new plugins if necessary
  • Load Zen Delay Virtual — it will detect your activated iLok license automatically
  • Without activation, a 7-day free trial is available
Lost Your License?

If you need to recover or transfer your license, open iLok License Manager and manage your activations from there. You can deactivate from one computer and reactivate on another. For further assistance, contact iLok support at https://www.ilok.com/#!support.
