Product Information

Rotor, a rotary speaker Rack Extension from Propellerhead. Meticulously modeled on the Leslie 122, Rotor brings the sound of the classic rotary speaker design to Reason - perfect for adding a vintage flavor to organs, guitars, vocals keys.

Key Features
  • Vintage Modeling: Faithfully recreates the physics of a Leslie 122, including independent acceleration and deceleration for the horn and the bass drum.
  • Customizable Acoustics: Take control of the virtual room with adjustable microphone distance and rotation speed settings.
  • Built-in Preamp Distortion: Includes a dedicated drive circuit to add everything from subtle warmth to aggressive tube-style growl.
  • Sound Shaping: Fine-tune the "Doppler" effect, horn length, and acceleration speeds to create rotary sounds that range from vintage realism to futuristic modulation.
  • CV Connectivity: Unique to the Reason environment, Rotor features CV outputs of its rotation speed, allowing you to sync the movement of other Reason devices to Rotor’s acceleration.
  • Modern Integration: Fully compatible with the Reason Rack Plugin, allowing you to use this classic effect in any DAW (VST3, AU, AAX).
System Requirements
  • Host Software: Requires Reason 7.1 or higher, or Reason Rack Plugin.

Operating Systems:

  • Windows: Windows 10 or higher (64-bit).
  • macOS: macOS 10.13 or higher (Intel & Apple Silicon supported via Reason 12+).
  • Internet: Required for initial installation and license synchronization.

Pro-Tip for MyPluginWorld Users

Don't just use Rotor for organs! Try loading a simple sawtooth synth lead and routing Rotor's Rotation CV Output to the synth's filter cutoff or resonance. As you toggle the Rotor speed from "Slow" to "Fast," your synth's timbre will evolve in perfect sync with the speaker's acceleration, creating a complex, organic movement that sounds much more "alive" than a standard LFO.
